How many times have you played in the James Avery Hill Country Golf Classic? I've played 3 times maybe 4.
What keeps bringing you back to Kerrville? I come to Kerrville to visit my cousin BK Cody and his family. It's a beautiful city, the people are friendly, and the November weather is hard to beat.
Why do you like playing in this tournament? The tournament is very top notch. All three courses, Comanche Trace, Riverhill Country Club, and Scott Schreiner Golf Course are unique and offer their own variety of challenges. Even though the flights are large, you have an opportunity to be in the money or win a skin. Have a bad day? No problem. Each day’s round pays the winners up to four places and the skins.
How does it compare to other tournaments you’ve played in from your area? I have never played in a tournament like this. Our flight usually fields 8 teams. Either match or medal play but the payout is at the end. I like the JAHCGC format…I can have two bad days and still not be out of it. You play for something each day. That is fun!
What would you say to golfers who may consider playing in the James Avery Hill Country Golf Classic? To all the golfers on the fence on whether to come to the JAHCGC, do it once and you'll see why its such a terrific experience. You'll love it!
Any additional comments? Beware of Texan's playing old clubs but with new grips!

- Playing on 3 unique and different courses
- Local hospitality of the businesses who have historically and continue to support the event
- The Kerrville “experience”
How does it compare to other tournaments you’ve played in from your area? Most any other golf tourney events will not have the opportunity to play on 3 great golf courses.
What would you say to golfers who may consider playing in the James Avery Hill Country Golf Classic? Don’t hesitate. Come and enjoy the golf and Kerrville.
Any additional comments? Looking forward to seeing you November 12-14, 2010!

What would you say to golfers who may consider playing in the James Avery Hill Country Golf Classic? You not only get your money’s worth but the tournament is fair and the golf courses are fun to play.
Any additional comments? The first year I played my son Ben Strickland was my partner. Beginning with the 5th Annual Ben brought in Harry Hopkins to be his partner and Dean LaBonte became my partner. So as I wrote this tournament is a great way to play fun golf with your friends.

TESTIMONIALS
Brian,
I am a past chairman of the Longview Chamber of Commerce. I worked with Kelly Hall and while we had a golf tournament as a fund raiser, it was nothing like what you have accomplished. I will be participating in my second event this year. Last year was so much fun, I am planning to be there every year now. Good luck.
