Due to water restrictions caused by the continuing drought across the state of Texas, the golf course at Riverhill Country Club has been forced to water only tees and greens. In order to protect and preserve the fairways Riverhill has gone to a Cart Path Only policy. The tee boxes and greens remain in good shape, but the fairways have suffered some stress. The golf course is playable, but with the cart path restrictions and fairway conditions the James Avery Hill Country Golf Classic Tournament Committee has decided to take Riverhill out of this year's rotation.
Due to the effluent water available to the Scott Schreiner Golf Course and Comanche Trace, they have not suffered from the same level of water restrictions as Riverhill, and both of those courses remain in excellent shape. In order to meet our commitment to providing participants with the best possible tournament experience, the tournament committee has made the decision that for this year's event only we will play 2 rounds at Comanche Trace, using all 27 holes there (all 3 nines were overseeded in October). We regret not being able to play at Riverhill during this year's tournament and look forward to returning there next year.
We know that many of you travel long distances to play in our tournament, and we greatly appreciate your willingness to do so. Thank you in advance for your understanding of this situation and your continued support of the James Avery Hill Country Golf Classic.
